Lagos road users now have a new toll-free number to call in case of traffic-related emergencies following the launch of a new hotline by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

The agency recently unveiled 3367 as its new emergency response line, a move aimed at improving traffic management, speeding up emergency response, and strengthening accountability on Lagos roads.

According to LASTMA, the hotline will allow motorists and commuters to report incidents such as broken-down vehicles, road crashes, disabled trucks, stranded tankers, traffic obstructions, and other situations that may cause delays or pose safety risks.

The agency said the toll-free line is available to subscribers on MTN, Glo, and Etisalat (T2), making it easier for millions of Lagosians to reach traffic officers without worrying about call charges.

Beyond reporting emergencies, the hotline also gives members of the public a channel to report the conduct and professionalism of LASTMA officials on duty, a step the agency says will improve transparency and accountability.

To make communication easier, callers can speak with operators in English, Yoruba, or Pidgin English.

Speaking on the initiative, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described this new initiative as part of the agency’s effort to build a safer, more technology-driven and citizen-centred traffic management system in Lagos.

He said the growing complexity of traffic in Lagos requires faster and smarter response systems, adding that reports made through the hotline will be handled professionally and forwarded to the right operational units for immediate action.

The agency urged residents to make use of the hotline as a quick and reliable way to report road emergencies and contribute to safer roads across the state.
