Obidiz, an upcoming musician has finally responded to popular gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo’s threat to sue him for N2 billion. She did this because he mentioned her name in his worldly song.

When the song was released, Mercy Chinwo’s legal representative, Pelumi Olajengbesi, took action by issuing a “stop and desist” letter to the musician Obidiz, urging him to withdraw his song “Mercy Chinwo” from all digital streaming platforms. 

On Saturday, Obidiz wrote on his Twitter page and said that he only sang a song, and he did not commit any murder. He explained that the song was about a woman he had met.

Una wan crucify me

According to him, his song “Mercy Chinwo” talks about a character of a church girl who has lost her way yet she was pretending to still be a church girl.

He specifically said that: 

“Mercy Chinwo for church o but for club na Cardi B set’ Talks about a girl I met, na she I sing about, but una wan crucify me.”

Mercy Chinwo sues Obidiz for using her name his song

Meanwhile upcoming Afrobeats artist, Obidiz, is facing legal action from renowned gospel artist, Mercy Chinwo. She is demanding 2 billion naira in compensation for using her name in one of his songs that she deems disrespectful.

The gifted gospel singer took legal action against Obidiz due to the disrespectful manner in which he used her name in his song titled “Mercy Chinwo”, which was released on February 10, 2023.

Mercy Chinwo is seeking to have the song removed from all platforms where it is currently available for listening.
