The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has issued a formal statement refuting circulating claims of traffic changes and enforcement activities around the Sheraton Link Bridge inward Opebi Road. Authorities described the information as false, misleading, and capable of causing unnecessary confusion among road users.
According to the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, there have been no recent adjustments to traffic regulations in the affected corridor. Motorists and commuters are advised that all existing traffic rules and operational patterns in the area remain unchanged until officially communicated otherwise.
The statement also addressed allegations suggesting that traffic enforcement officials are unfairly targeting motorists in the vicinity. The Ministry firmly denied these claims, emphasizing that there is no such activity taking place and urging the public not to be misled by unverified reports.
Residents and road users are strongly encouraged to rely solely on official updates from the Ministry for accurate traffic information. The spread of false or unverified messages, officials warn, can disrupt mobility and undermine public trust in traffic management systems.
The government reiterated its commitment to maintaining order and transparency in Lagos’ transportation network, calling on citizens to act responsibly by refraining from sharing misinformation.
The statement concluded with a reminder for the public to stay safe and remain vigilant, especially in verifying the authenticity of traffic-related updates before dissemination.
