UEFA has revealed the Player of the Year award nominees after the Super Cup.

 Lionel Messi is on the list along with two other players. Manchester City won the Super Cup against Sevilla, and now two players from their team are also nominated for the Men’s Player of the Year award.

 Messi and Haaland are in the top three for the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award. He is one of the  top choice for the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award.

Messi performance 

He led Argentina to win the World Cup in Qatar last year. Messi also won his second Ligue 1 title with PSG last season. He’s the first Argentinian to win the World Cup since Diego Maradona.

 Messi scored seven goals in the FIFA World Cup 2022. He was also named the best player in the Qatar tournament. UEFA announced the top three nominees for the 2022/23 Men’s Player of the Year.

Haaland joins Messi in the Nominees

Joining Messi in the top three nominees for the 2022/23 UEFA Men’s Player of the Year is Erling Haaland, who had an outstanding season with Manchester City. 

The star forward had a season full of goals with Pep Guardiola’s team, scoring 36 goals in the English Premier League (EPL). Haaland also scored 12 goals in the Champions League when Manchester City won the title.

Debruyne is also on the list 

Haaland’s teammate Kevin De Bruyne from Man City is also nominated for the important award.

 The 32-year-old played a big role in helping Man City win three major titles last season. De Bruyne was a key player in Man City’s first-ever Champions League win and a historic domestic double. 

He made the most assists (16) in the English top league. In 10 Champions League games last season, De Bruyne scored two goals and had 7 assists.

Man City lift their first UEFA Super Cup Trophy  

In another news, Manchester City win another Trophy, they celebrated very well after winning their first Super Cup Trophy 

 The final was settled by a penalty shoot-out, with Sevilla’s Nemanja Gudelj hitting the crossbar on the decisive kick, prompting City players to rush jubilantly across the field.

Sevilla scored first. They played better in the first 45 minutes while City struggled to keep up.
