Yul Edochie, a Nigerian actor, has advised the Biafran sympathizer Simon Ekpa on Friday over his sit at home order to his people.
Edochie directed his tweet at the secessionist who had ordered his people to sit at home and stop all economic activities in a bid to display their yearning for an independent country.
The Nollywood actor told Ekpa that it is pointless to forcefully direct people to sit at home stating further that it will add to their suffering.
“Dear Simon Ekpa, ‘sit at home’ will not bring Biafra. Suffering your own people will not bring Biafra. Nigeria wasn’t joined by Emeka or Chioma, Nigeria was joined by the British Govt. for their own personal reasons, therefore suffering your people to make a point is of no use,” he said.
Simon Ekpa is an ex Finnish soldier who is a self identified member of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Vanguard Nigeria earlier reported on Friday that the five day sit at home has ended.
The pro-Biafra man had earlier tweeted that ending Nigeria in 2023 is a task that must be done.
“To end Nigeria in 2023 is a task that must be done! There will be no general election in Biafraland in 2023, it is a sacrifice and a task that must be done by all Biafrans across the globe,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have signed a petition seeking the arrest of Ekpa stating that his words are inciting and encouraging violence.
Nigerians have also reacted to the stern message the actor sent to Ekpa:
Onochie Isaiah (@westisalah):
“My parents fought in that war, my mom left Kano barracks to land in Ogwashi-Uku at night. We can just forget biafra and focus on developing our region, the killings and hostility caused is still fresh. What of Asaba, Asaba, lets build our Land. No sit at home.”
Ajufo Chibedu (@AjufoChinedu) said:
“After going though the thread, four out of five people supporting Simon Ekpa and his sit at home are not living in Nigeria. I identified two in US, Denmark and Sweden.”
