Le Parisien, a popular French daily newspaper, has reported that Lionel Messi will not be allowed to showcase his World Cup trophy to fans of PSG.
According to the French newspaper, the 7 time Ballon D’or winner will not be given the chance to lift the cup in the presence of fans due to the fact that he won the trophy against the country.
It is reported that some PSG fans may not be able to stomach the sad memories of losing the world cup and this may result in booing against the World cup winner.
One other reason is that Argentina goalkeeper Martinez held a baby doll donned with Kylian Mbappe crying face during the World cup parade in Argentina. The goalkeeper was seen beside Messi holding the doll.
According to Le Perisien, the guard of honor given by the PSG teammates last week is enough for the 35-year-old who won his first World Cup in 2022.
Lionel Messi is back to training and is available for the match against Angers on Wednesday.
