Tension as police kill 16-year-old, three over N100 bribe in Lagos

Three persons have been reported shot dead by men of the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday morning in Abule-Egba area of Lagos.

According to eyewitness, officers reportedly shot three and a 16-year-old apprentice was hit by a stray bullet as mob lynched the killer cop.

Troubled began when a yet to be identified police officer allegedly stabbed a tricycle rider on his chest at Ile-Iwe, Abule-Egba following his refusal to give N100 to the officer.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adekunle Ajisebutu have been restored to the area.

“The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has dispatched adequate Police patrol teams to maintain law and order there. No cause for alarm,” he said.

As at the time of filing this report, the police is yet to confirm the identify of the cop.
