A Kenyan polygamist expressed his desire to acquire more wives despite having 8 wives, seven concubines and 107 children and gave his reasons.

In a documentary by Afrimax, 63 year old David Kalukhana who lives in Teresia village, Kakamega County, shared why he chose the path of polygamy and how he has been coping.

Mr Kalukhana first got married in 1987 but felt he needed more wives so he went ahead to marry several others.

He stated that when he married his first wife, she was not up to the task of being his companion, so he had to search harder.

A head like mine can’t be managed by one woman

“A head like mine cannot be managed by one woman. It is like a big sack of maize which has to be divided into smaller parts for ease of movement. I need many wives so that they can manage the amount of brains and ideas in my head. I am too smart for one wife,” Mr Kalukhana said.

Asides farming, Mr Kalukhana opened up about the menial jobs he does to earn a living, including landscaping activities and building stone fences for people in the community.

The wives, who are from different age groups, cook together, eat together and share their food. They share household chores and treat their husband like a king.

He stated clearly that he does not believe in religion, and he can live my life through my his intervention because he is a genius,” 

Upon interviewing one of his wives, she said her husband is responsible and has always done his best to make them happy. Praising his bedroom skills, she said he is also very strong.

Polygamy is the new inter-house sports – Nollywood actor encourages polygamy

Ibrahim Chattah, a veteran Nollywood actor stirred a controversy online after he shared his opinion in support of polygamy.

In a video, Femi Adebayo, asked why wives do not give much attention to their husbands once they have children, and  how this makes the children prefer their mothers to their fathers.

He expressed displeasure that the father hustles to provide for the family and the mother ends up getting all the child’s love.
