Kayode Petinrin, a Lagos naval officer, has been accused of physically abusing a Lagosian on Thursday.

The motorist who identified himself as Sola said he was attacked at CMS in Lagos state on a hot Thursday afternoon.

Ikeja Bird gathered that Petinrin is the son of former Air Chief staff, Oluseyi Petirin. It was a case of a little collision that turned sour.

Sola said he was attacked when he challenged the naval officer for destroying his new car. The power-drunk officer damaged Sola’s car while he was attempting to dodge traffic, according to a Punch report. An angry Sola challenged the naval staff and he responded by attacking him.

“I was driving along CMS and there was traffic; everybody was driving orderly, but a naval officer just wanted to come in front of me and I had already passed where he could enter from,” Sola was quoted to have said.

“So, he tried to squeeze his way in and hit my car. I got out of my car to see the damage and I challenged him that what he did was wrong. But he just came out and told me to get back into my car,” Sola said.

The motorist also said he reported him to a policeman who was present at the incident. But then, the naval officer showed his ID Card to the police to shut him up.

“Then he started punching me. I have a deep cut on my lips. My hand was bruised, and I was seriously injured in the attack.”

Sola had made an official report to Maroko Police Station. The DPO of that station had assured him that the matter would be properly addressed.

Sola said he is unhappy that his newly bought car had been disfigured. He also revealed that he was on his way to the king’s palace when the incident took place.
