Nollywood actor, Adekola Tijani recalled his final interaction with his buddy and coworker Murphy Afolabi before the latter’s terrible death.
On Sunday, May 14, Murphy Afolabi passed away as a result of a bathroom accident at his Lagos home. On Monday, May 16, in the evening, he was buried.
Murphy’s burial was held in Ikorodu yesterday, and Adekola Tijani spoke with Goldmynetv there. He recalled how the late actor led a very modest life and was well-liked by many people.

Just thirty minutes prior to his untimely death, they had a talk, and he stated that Murphy may have had a premonition about his demise based on some of his comments.
Murphy’s explanation for why he delivered his weekly donation to their thrift earlier than normal was that one never knows when they’ll pass away when Tijani questioned him about it.
Additionally, he revealed that his late friend had requested him to come get some of the clothing he had worn for his birthday photoshoot during their discussion, and he had replied that he would do it later.
They did everything together
He however did not know that the actor was sending a message.
Translating into English, Tijani, who spoke in the Yoruba language, said,
“When he was alive, he always wanted us to do things together. We can’t question God, but I’m really touched. He was still young, and we started together. I shot his first movie, and he was the first person to discover my acting skills. We have done a lot together, we have fought and settled. I know everything about him.”
Tijani mentioned that he still spoke to Murphy Afolabi by 9:30am and he fell at 10:00am.
He was called immediately and they drove down to the hospital but his friend died before they arrived.
Tijani recounted how Murphy asked him to take some of the clothes he used for his birthday but he turned them down.
Still speaking, he said:
“Yesterday, he sent money for a contribution we always have on Sundays. He sent it early, and I questioned his choice to send it early. His response was that we don’t know what will happen the next day or in the next minute. I didn’t know he was bidding me farewell.”

The actor who celebrated his birthday sometime last week on Friday, May 5th, 2023 was reported to have kicked the bucket.
