There is a video circulating on social media that shows Nigerian police officers brutally beating a young boy who refused to hand over his phone to them at Ojo local government
It is common practice for Nigerian police to confiscate phones from young boys, especially if they have expensive ones, which is bad. However, this particular boy stood up for his rights and refused to give his phone to the officers.
The video shows about three or four officers violently attacking the boy, with one of them even holding a gun. Despite his resistance, the boy was eventually forced into their police vehicle. The person who recorded the incident claimed that the officers planned to strip him naked and continue beating him.
Police brutality is rampant in Nigeria
Unfortunately, it is a well-known fact that Nigerian police often violate the human rights of Nigerians, subjecting them to physical abuse and mistreatment under the guise of maintaining security.
Nigerian boys who work hard to acquire something for themselves, such as an expensive phone, are frequently targeted by the police, who beat them severely when they are found in possession of such items.

They are not being punished, decommissioned from service or face any consequences in anyway else why does this keep happening despite the media reporting and attention. Catch them on recording they get to go on a break then reassigned to a different unit, harassment continues
@Classic84073745:It pains me why people keep watch from afar .. we as a citizen enabled this nonsense.
@bayo_alabi_:Based on what some police officers that has a Twitter account often say, they said it is wrong to lay your hands on an officer of the law right? now in that video, the guy was slapped. So is it okay for a police officer to beat someone who is resisting arrest?
