Eight-time Olympic gold medal winner Usain Bolt has disclosed that over $12 million left his account on Wednesday.
The Athlete said the scammer left only $12,000 in his account after the heist that nearly emptied his entire savings.
According to Bloomberg, the money was supposed to be Bolt’s lifetime and retirement savings.
“It’s distressful news for anyone. And certainly in the case of Mr. Bolt, who established this account as part of his private pension,” Bolt’s lawyer Linton P. Gordon said on Wednesday.
Gordon has threatened that he would sue the investment firm if the money is not returned within the space of eight days.
Gordon’s eight days ultimatum affects both the scammer and the firm where the savings was kept.
Kingston based investment firm Stocks and Securities Limited was where Bolt kept the missing money.
According to Jamaican Financial Services Commission, they were earlier singled out as one of the firms that needs enhanced service.
