Three bandits, said to have repented and absorbed by Katsina State Government in the state’s security to boost the state’s security architecture against insurgents, have been arrested for robbry and selling off 20 cows valued at N7m belonging to a farmer.
The suspects, having laid down their arms and denounced memberships of the various banditry groups terrorizing some Northern States, were attached to it’s security agencies where they threaten the farmer with matchete and robbed them of additional N40, 000.
According to the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Gambo Isah, the three male suspects: Abdullahi Mai-Rafi, 43 of Kofar Marusa Lowcost, Katsina; Abbas Haruna (alias Dogo-Abbas), 34, of Filin Polo Quarters, Katsina and Usman Hassan, (alias Manu), 50, of Ganuwa village in the Charanchi LGA of Katsina State, attacked one Alhaji Gide Suleiman of Malumafashi LGA, while grazing his animals with machetes and sticks, threatening him and his boys that they were from the office of the Special Adviser on security to the state governor and dispossessed him of 20 cows valued at N7.55m.
“They also searched and robbed them of the sum of of N40,000 and four handsets”, the Police said.
Gambo in a press release on Wednesday, said: “on August 11, at about 11a.m. the trio went to Danmarke Forest, Ingawa LGA, with an ash colour Toyota Camry car, marked DE 631 LED, attacked a herder, one Alhaji Gide Suleiman of Malumafashi LGA, while grazing his animals with machetes and sticks, threatened him and his boys that they were from the office of the Special Adviser on security to His Excellency, with a false allegation that their brother, one Sa’idu had robbed one Lawal of his herds, and that they should either produce the said Saidu or bring100 cows.
The command also arrested a 30-years-old Aminu Adulrazak, who supplys bandits with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), petrol adding that their arrest was sequel to credible intelligence received from residents.
