President Tinubu  declares support for Nigeria’s ambition to host AFCON 2027

In another news, Nigeria and the Republic of Benin have teamed up to make a joint bid to host the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament. The Nigerian government is fully supporting this bid to host AFCON in 2027.

John Owan Enoh, who is in charge of sports development, will attend a meeting in Cairo, Egypt, where the Confederation of African Football Executive Committee will discuss this bid. This is a big deal because Nigeria last hosted the AFCON tournament in 1980.

Representatives from the Nigerian government, the Minister, and the leaders of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will also attend this meeting. They will present Nigeria’s case to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) during the conference in Egypt.
