The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) will celebrate the 50th year of its yearly awards by giving awards to the best players in women’s and men’s football.

They will give out the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the PFA Young Player of the Year awards. This will happen on August 29th.

PFA Players’ Player of the Year Nominees( Women)

Ona Batlle – Manchester United

Ona Batlle did really well in her last season at Manchester United. She helped her team a lot by making nine assists

Rachel Daly – Aston Villa

Rachel was the top scorer in the WSL with 22 goals in her first season with Aston Villa. She even scored two hat-tricks against Reading

Sam Kerr – Chelsea

Sam Kerr, who won last year, had another really good season with Chelsea. She scored 29 goals in 38 games for Chelsea in all the matches they played. 

Frida Maanum – Arsenal

Frida Maanum did really well for Arsenal this season. She played a big part in helping Arsenal beat Chelsea in the League Cup final.

Guro Reiten – Chelsea

Guro Reiten had a great season too, just like Kerr. She did really well for the Blues, scoring 13 goals and making 19 assists.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw – Manchester City

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw had an amazing season in the WSL. She scored 20 goals in only 21 games and also helped with seven assists.

Young Player of the Year Nominees

Erling Haaland – Manchester City

Haaland had an incredible season,He might be the first player since Gareth Bale in 2013 to win both the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards in the same season.

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal

He has been nominated for the award for the fourth time in a row. He almost won in the last two years but lost to Phil Foden from Manchester City.

Gabriel Martinelli – Arsenal

Saka will be competing with his teammate Gabriel Martinelli. Gabriel had a really good season as part of Arsenal’s strong attacking group with Saka and Odegaard. He scored 15 goals and made 5 assists.

Moisés Caicedo – Brighton and Hove Albion

Moisés Caicedo  from Brighton and Hove Albion was a fantastic star last season. Caicedo did really well in his first full season under Roberto De Zerbi, especially in the midfield. He currently the most expensive British player. 

Jacob Ramsey – Aston Villa 

Jacob Ramsey would be the fifth Aston Villa player to win PFA Young Player of the Year, having been nominated for the second successive year.

PFA Players’ Player of the Year Nominees( Men)

Erling Haaland – Manchester City

The striker from Norway set a new record for scoring the most goals in a single Premier League season. He scored 36 goals in only 35 games.

Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City

Kevin De Bruyne might win the award for the third time, which has never happened before. He played really well for Pep Guardiola’s team and helped them a lot by making 18 assists and scoring seven goals 

John Stones – Manchester City

John Stones is also in the list of City’s players who could win. He was instrumental in the defense.

Martin Ødegaard – Arsenal

Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka had really good seasons and almost helped their team win. Ødegaard became the captain and did a great job, scoring 15 goals

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal

Saka had a beautiful season after  scoring 14 goals  and had  11 assists.

Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane had a really good season in the Premier League with Tottenham. He scored more than 30 goals, which he has done only once before in his career.
