Mistura Asunramu is a household name in Nollywood. Popularly known as ‘Yeye Amuludun’, the ebullient actress relocated to the United States some years ago. Ever since, she has been churning out movies, among other things.

In an interview with IkejaBird from her base in the US, the sultry actress noted Nollywood didn’t create money rituals. She stated that it had existed before Nollywood.

Yeye Amuludun said the Nigerian film industry has been playing its role to discourage people from evil acts, while also dramatizing the repercussion of such.

She said: “Money ritual has been before Nollywood. What Nollywood does is to teach and discourage people from doing any evil as it always show the repercussions of such acts. Nollywood did not invent money ritual.”

Speaking on her current project, the actress noted that she was working on a movie entitled ‘Apanimayoda’.
“I have a movie with the editor, that will be released soon. It is entitled APANIMAYODA. I am preparing to start shooting a soap opera; its working title is ‘Distractions’, she said.

While describing her Nigerian and American movie experience, Asunramu said: ” They are two different scenarios. Both have advantages and disadvantages. I have learnt from both experiences and I am okay working in both environments with ease. It’s easier to shoot a movie in Nigeria than in the US in terms of availability of actors, crew members, locations and storylines.

“In the US,  everyone has other professions, going to work, doing some other courses to make ends meet. So coming together is not that easy but we are trying our best.”

She also said the American experience had impacted positively on her.
“It has impacted positively on me. I have learnt more in movie making and getting involved more than just acting,” she noted.

Asunramu also noted that her movie ‘Wadu wadu’,produced last year, was well received by the American film audience.

The actress, however, advised youths to be hardworking and be focused instead of desiring to get rich quick without breaking sweat.

“I  believe in hardwork, being  focused and prayerful. Thus, youths should be hardworking and focused. With that, everything will end in praise,” she said.
