The Chief Executive officer of EmPawa Africa, Mr. Eazi has made it public that he would sue Grammy award-winning Latin artist Bad Bunny for copyright infringement on Joeboy’s song.
The CEO stated this in his official Twitter handle on February 6 indicating that Bad Bunny did not seek proper credit for the song he sampled.
“Yo @sanbenito you need to tell your the lawyers to stop messing around and clear that Joeboy rip off on your album.”
Mr. Eazi took it one step further to share the links to both songs with the caption:
“Badbunny @sanbenito incase you are not sure what song I’m talking about…Ain’t no way you produced and sang an Afrobeat record lol”
The Joeboy song that was sampled by Badbunny is “Empty my Pocket.” The Latin rapper had extensively sampled it on his song “Ensename a Bailar.”
Badbunny recently won another Grammy award in the category Musica Urbana Album for his body of work “Un Verano Sin Ti”. The Latin rapper has not responded to Mr. Eazi’s allegations yet.
