Maimuna Sajeri, a Borno-based mother of 9, has reportedly committed suicide in her home at Jumari ward of Jere LGA of Borno State.
According to Dailytrust, the incident happened on Saturday around 6:00pm in the evening.
Baa Modu, an eyewitness,
narrated how the deceased children rushed out to inform him that their mother had taken her own life.
“When we entered, her first son managed to cut the rope and her lifeless body was on the floor. And beside her was her 4-month-old baby, ” Modu was quoted to have said.
Maimunah did not leave a suicide note, he said, and prior to her death, there was no indication that she was suicidal.
IkejaBird gathered more information from another eyewitness who pleaded anonymity: “One of her children said the mother was opposed to their relocation to the house after being dislodged from their former house in Bulunkutu Kasuwa.
“In protest, the deceased angrily packed to her parents house, but was brought back yesterday, not knowing that she had plan to commit suicide this evening,” he said.
