We don’t know the cause
A distressed passerby, Mr. Richard Igbe, who was stranded at the scene, reported the incident to Vanguard.
While the exact cause of the fight remains unconfirmed, Igbe stated that he had witnessed four individuals who had lost their lives as a result of gunshots during the fight
“Mile 2 is on fire; both the task force, tanker drivers, and touts are fighting seriously. I don’t know what caused the fight, but I am just hiding at Fagbems Filling station at Mile 2 and watching. I am going to work, but I am stranded as they barricade the whole of Mile 2, and nobody can pass,” Igbe stated.
In response to the chaos, traffic disruptions were reported in the area, prompting commuters to seek alternative routes to avoid the conflict zone.
The identity of the deceased individuals has not yet been disclosed, and authorities are working to regain control of the situation.
