The Lagos State Police command on Thursday rescued nine children, all boys, from a cult initiation in the Mushin area of Lagos State.

Ikejabird reported that all nine of the children who were saved were minors, with the oldest being 14 and the youngest being 9 years old, and they all had incisions beneath their lower lips.

The Lagos State Police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin however stated that investigation is still underway.

Taking to Twitter, he advised, “We need to strengthen the family unit!”

In other news, In a troubling incident, gunmen who are suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a highly respected leader, known as the first-class monarch of Gurku chiefdom in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Mr. Jibril Mamman Waziri, and his wife, Mrs. Sa’adatu Waziri.

Late in the evening on Sunday, around 10 p.m., these kidnappers entered the chief’s palace, which is situated in a mountainous region.

A person from the community, who wanted to remain anonymous,shared that this unfortunate event happened while most of the residents were asleep.
