Atiku Abubakar is vying once again to become Nigeria’s next president. He is the presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party popularly known as PDP.
The election which is slated for February 25 will have other candidates such as Peter Obi of Labour Party and Bola Tinubu of All Progressive Congress vying for the same position.
IkejaBird gathered that one interesting fact about the PDP presidential candidate is that he is the only one among the major names with wives from three major ethnic tribes in Nigeria.
Atiku has married from the Igbo and Yoruba households. He has three other wives who originated from Hausa speaking states in Nigeria as well.
Who are the wives of Atiku Abubakar
Atiku married from the three major ethnic tribes in Nigeria and they are as follows: Fatima Abubakar (Hausa), Ruqayat Abubakar (Hausa/Fulani), Amina Titi Abubakar (Yoruba), Ladi Abubakar (Hausa) and Jennifer Abubakar (Igbo).
Jennifer Abubakar is Igbo from Onitsha, Anambra State. She has a degree in Political Science and Communication from the American University in Washington. Atiku married the Igbo woman in the 1990s and lived for over two decades with her before their split in 2021.
Atiku Abubakar also married Amina Titi Atiku Abubakar at the age of 25 in December 1971, she is Yoruba from Illesa, Osun state.
The other three wives; Ladi Atiku Abubakar, Princess Rukaiyatu Atiku Abubakar, Fatima Atiku Abubakar are all Hausas.
