Famous Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, delivered an emotional speech at his mother’s funeral on Thursday.
In a video shared on social media, he expressed the depth of his grief, describing it as the most profound pain he has ever experienced.
Wizkid stated, “The pain is profound. It hurts deeply. The deepest pain I have ever felt in my life. I’m lost, but I pray that God will comfort every one of us. I’m lost without you, Mom. I love you so much.

A candlelight procession to honor the singer’s mother took place on Wednesday, marking Wizkid’s first public appearance after a nearly month-long period of mourning.
In 2014, Wizkid paid tribute to his mother through the song ‘Mummy Mi’ from his ‘Ayo’ album, dedicated to mothers worldwide. In the song, he praised his mother for the joy she brought into his life and vowed to lavish her with the finest things life had to offer.
