In a courageous revelation, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, recently opened up about his years-long struggle with cancer.
Olumide Akpata revealed that he was diagnosed with stage three cancer more than a decade ago. Although he didn’t specify the type of cancer.
He revealed this during the celebration of his 51st birthday.

He expressed his gratitude to God for his life and revealed that he has been cancer-free for the past five years after undergoing treatments.
He said, “You may have noticed me dancing around the hall. I am dancing with thanksgiving because I turned 51 years old today. It is a miracle that I am still standing.”
The legal practitioner who joined the Labour Party, recently declared his intention to secure the governorship ticket and win the upcoming 2024 governorship election in Edo State.

Former President of NBA on why he joined Labour Party
In other news, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata has officially joined the Labour Party (LP).
He confirmed this on Tuesday in a post on Twitter.
He wrote, “Quite a number of people have called/ messaged me to confirm the news, currently making the rounds, that I have joined a political party.
