Chelsea again fell flat against Fulham in a Premier League encounter on Thursday, January 12, with a 2-1 away defeat at the Craven Cottage Stadium, thanks to a late 73rd-minute stunner from Carlos Vinicius.
Graham Potter’s side came into the game with a lot of pressure having lost their last 4 games — two to league rivals Manchester City in the previous encounters.
Lack of coordination up front, coupled with a lot of mistakes in the defence cost Chelsea their brilliant start as the host side changed the scoresheet in the first half, courtesy of Willian’s 25th-minute goal.
Kalidou Koulibaly brought Chelsea back to the game with a 47th-minute goal before Fulham scored again to dash the visitors’ hope of sharing the spoils.
The biggest highlight of the encounter was new signee, Joan Felix, getting a red card in his debut game for the North London side.
The Portuguese forward was given a red card in the 58th minute following a reckless challenge on Kenny Tete.
A tweet has now gone viral earlier predicting that the 23-year-old would be red-carded in the game.
The tweet was made on Thursday, two hours before the game by a Twitter user @mariEscobarPAWG.
“I have a feeling Felix gets sent off like I could see it happening just because of how Chelsea has been lately”, he said
Reacting, a tweet said: “ Some of you are not from this world, ‘cause how on Earth could you have called this?!”
Chelsea sits 10th in the Premier League standing and is facing relegation and a chance of the Champions League next season.
