Former US President Donald Trump has pleaded a not guilty plea to charges accusing him of leading a criminal conspiracy aimed at overturning his 2020 election loss in Georgia. 

Trump, who faces 13 felony counts including racketeering, submitted his plea through a court filing. 

He surrendered to the Fulton County jail last week and was released on a $200,000 bond.

There are 18 more defendants 

Trump is accused of colluding with 18 other defendants in an effort to reverse his defeat in Georgia. 

His arrest follows his decision to skip a televised debate among 2024 Republican presidential nominees. 

Trump’s trials are anticipated to coincide with the 2024 election campaign.

Charges brought against Donald Trump for alleged election manipulation 

In another news, Fani Willis a prosecutor in the state of Georgia said that she has asked for the arrest of Donald Trump and 18 other people who were working with him. 

After a grand jury issued its decision, the Fulton County district attorney declared that 13 felony charges had been brought against Mr. Trump. 

These charges pertain to his alleged efforts to reverse the outcome of the 2020 presidential election within the state.
