Nigerian celebrities are currently taking the front seats in love matters. While some are cutting ties with their partners, others are tying the knots and getting engaged. Here is a list of those who have gotten engaged or married in 2022.
DJ Cuppy
Florence Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, daughter of popular Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola is now engaged to Ryan Taylor, British boxer. The boxer proposed to her on Sunday, November 20, 2022. This came after a series of claims on Twitter from the disc jockey to be single.
Many have begun to react on Twitter that she skipped the dating process and went straight to getting engaged.
Lola Okunrin wrote, “DJ Cuppy on Twitter moved from “I don’t have a man” to “I’m engaged” skipping “I’m in a relationship.” That’s how women do. “God when” “God when” but they are in a 4 years romantic relationship with one of the best guys in the world.”
Another tweep, Pelu-me, wrote, “DJ Cuppy is one of those people who pretend to be single on the TL only to show up with engagement ring out of the blues.”
Rejoice Iwueze
The lead singer of the Destined Kids got engaged to Temitayo Samuel on September 9.
The couple had their traditional wedding on November 16 when she wrote on her Instagram page, “It’s a new phase, It’s a new dawn, It’s a new level, It’s a new chapter. This next level is just bubbling in my heart and I’m super excited I’m doing this with you baby. Let’s do it traditionally today baby.
Israel DMW
Davido’s logistics manager got married to Sheila David in October. Davido and his partner, Chioma, graced the occasion, while he performed ‘Assurance.’
M.I Abaga
Star rapper, M.I Abaga tied the knots with Eniola Mafe on September 22 traditionally. The couple had their white wedding on September 24. The ceremony was tagged the #TheIncredibles22.
Rita Dominic
The Nollywood actress got married to the love of her life, Fidelis Anosike in April. Tagged #ReelDeel22, the wedding ceremony which held in Imo State had many other celebrities in attendance. The celebrities graced the occasion in the colours of the day, green and gold. Some of them are Joke Silva, Ini edo, Uche Chioma Akpotha, and Uche Jombo.
Temi Otedola
Temi Otedola got engaged to singer, Mr. Eazi in April. Describing how they met, Mr Eazi said, “I met Temi in London. It was an event, her sister invited me for an event. Her sister was playing at the event, somewhere in Nightbridge and she said, oh come out come out, follow me to this event, so I followed her to the event. Then she was deejaying and all of a sudden it was just me and Temi sitting down and just watching her.”
