A magistrate court in Ibadan has ordered the remand of a popular skit maker known as “Trinity Guy” in prison for allegedly sexualizing a young girl in a video.
The police have accused Trinity Guy of sexually exploiting a minor in a viral video. In the video, he asked a young girl to describe his private parts. As a result, Trinity Guy has been charged and brought to court.
During the court proceedings, Trinity Guy’s lawyer, Oludare Adebayo, requested that his client be released. However, the magistrate judge, P.O Adetuyibi, rejected the plea.
The judge explained that there is an ongoing investigation by the government office responsible for the justice system in Oyo state related to Trinity Guy’s case. Therefore, the court decided to keep Trinity Guy in the Agodi correctional facility until the following month.
Furthermore, the court also ordered that the parents of the ten-year-old child who appeared in the viral video with Trinity Guy be detained in prison as well. Trinity Guy had previously claimed that he had obtained consent from the child’s parents before filming the video
