“Welcome to Big Brother —”
It’s been what, 10 months since the deep baritone voice of Biggie resonated through the Big Brother House, ushering in a new season and thrilling millions of fans and viewers. Biggie, the functionary owner of the house organizes all the housemates, makes the rules and moderates discussions in the Diary room.
Finally, it is here. The 6th Season of Big Brother Naija, the most awaited reality TV show in Nigeria and the Continent has started with this season’s theme “Shine ya Eye”. Starting with a special Double Launch: 11 male housemates introduced on Saturday, July 24th and their female counterparts on Sunday the 25th, the show promises to be nothing short of intense fun. Interestingly, the winner is to take home the grand prize of 90 million Naira worth of prizes.
“I never really watched BBN, not until recent. This year’s contestants are all rugged, maybe with the exception of Maria & Yousef. If you ask me, I’m not really feeling the selection this year,” Nonso, a 21 year old Translator said.
Liquorose, latest Big Brother housemate disclosed to her housemates while they bonded, “Yeah, I’m a lover girl when I am in love, but at the same time, I’m single and keeping an open mind because I have been away from a relationship for about a decade.”
As seen, different housemates with different personalities rule this Season. Angel, the housemate with 11 tattoos, Niyi, who nearly denied his marital status, Arin, a Millennial Pisces with 17 piercings, not forgetting names like Yuman, WhiteMoney, Maria, Jackie B and a whole lot of others. The fans asked for drama, and it seems Biggie was careful to select his housemates for that purpose this year.
“I can’t really say it’s better than last year because they just started. However, I like WhiteMoney for his humor and free nature,” said Dapo, a tertiary student.
With a revamped BBNaija house and more interesting personalities, the 10-week long Reality TV Show will follow the lives of strangers as they interact and compete with each other to win the grand prize. Coming with all the flurry and drama, Big Brother Naija tunes the excitement, a notch higher.
