I was on the verge of giving up: Davido reveals
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, officially announced the arrival of his twins, a boy and a girl, with his wife, Chioma. The news gained widespread attention after a viral video captured Chioma leaving the hospital in the United States with their newborn twins.
Davido, speaking at the United Masters Select Con event on Saturday, shared the emotional journey he and his wife had experienced upon learning about the twins. Despite the challenges, including the heartbreaking loss of their son, Ifeanyi, he revealed that they never gave up hope.
“I was on the verge of giving up. I believed I might never sing again. I turned to God, saying I can’t do this anymore. Surprisingly, after that, I experienced the most successful year of my career, marked by my biggest album. Just three days ago, my wife gave birth to twins – a beautiful son and daughter. It’s a double blessing. We held onto our faith, even in the toughest times.
He also mentioned that the discovery of the twins occurred in the same month that his son passed away last year, making the arrival of the twins in October this year even more profound.”
