The Rivers state branch Chairperson of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA, Bar. Adata Bio-Briggs has asserted that adultery is not a criminal offense.
She explained that infidelity is not a criminal offense however, the spouse can sue for it if he/she has evidence to back his/her claims.
Bar. Adata Bio-Briggs stated that if the spouse condones it and decides not to do anything against it, then ‘it is finished, no action can be maintained’.

She asserted that if anyone wants to sue anyone for adultery very substantial and reliable evidence must be provided.
“Adultery is not a criminal offense. Only a spouse can sue for adultery. If the spouse condones the act, then it is finished. No action can be maintained. I have done my good deed for the day by sharing the above information. Please before you bring any matter that you want us to sue, please come with your reliable EVIDENCE,” she said.

@iameniolamyde:Adultery is not even a criminal offence to start with, but bigamy is. It is purely civil matter. Either of the two can bring action for that, the wife or the husband.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian lady shared how she took her revenge on her boyfriend whom she had been dating for years after finding out he had been cheating on her.
Taking to the Facebook group, Rant HQ Extention, the young lady sent an anonymous message to a social media user and confessed that she has been urinating in her boyfriend’s food.
According to her, she and her man have been together for 3 years, however, she somehow found out without his knowledge that he was getting set to marry another female.
