Celebrities react to death of BRT Passenger, Oluwabamise Ayanwole

Celebrities and Nigerians have taken to social media to express their sadness over the death of Oluwabamise Ayanwole, a young woman who went missing after boarding a BRT on February 26.

Popular Skit maker, Debo Macaroni tweeted, “Bamise’s story is so heartbreaking. It is even more worrisome that we don’t know how many people have suffered the same fate as her.
For all we know, there could be more to suffer the same fate and that is because it is hard to get Justice in our society.”

Rinu Oduala said, “Who knows how many people they’ve killed & dumped with a state owned BRT before Bamise had the bravery to capture it before she died?

She may not be their first victim.
The kïller must be fished out & everyone involved must pay.
#JusticeForBamise”

Akproko doctor tweeted, “Security is a mess!
How can you get murdered in a BRT?
Not one chance! BRT.
Publicly run by the government.

Bamise could be anyone, I’d rather enter a BRT than a danfo at night, now even that appearance of safety has been taken from us.”

Lola Okunrin tweeted, “BRT was supposed to fade Danfo and Okada away while reducing one chance, kidnapping and robbery. Saddening that same BRT has been compromised. Those who killed Bamise must not go scot free. LAMATA and LBSL must not go scot free. #JustceForBamise 😭”

Adewale Adetona tweeted, It’s a good development that the driver of the BRT bus Bamise entered has now been arrested. But it’s very disheartening that the arrest wasn’t made several days ago when the incident was first reported. The friend even gave the bus number. Maybe she wouldn’t have died by now.”
Mercy Johnson Okojie posted on her Instagram handle, “Hmmmm I am livid. All she did was board a BRT BUS…

So many questions. At what point is it enough? What happened to her? What is it we dont know? Hmmmmm May God help us in this country and may God give her family the strength to bear this loss. #justiceforbamise#”
