Buhari departs to Nairobi, London for medical check up

President Buhari will travel to London from Kenya for routine medical checks that will last a maximum of two weeks.

In a statement released by Femi Adesina, Special Assistant to the President for Media and Publicity on Tuesday.

He said: “The president is expected to leave Abuja on Tuesday, March 1st, following an invitation from his Kenyan counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta, to attend the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP@50), which is scheduled for March 3rd and 4th, 2022, in Nairobi, Kenya.

The theme of the Special Session is titled, “Strengthening UNEP for the Environmental Dimension of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

President Buhari is expected to deliver the country’s National Statement and participate in high-level dialogue sessions on the environment at the event. He said.

Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sharon Ikeazor, National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen Babagana Monguno (rtd), Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, and Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission will accompany him.
