It was a day of celebration and tributes at the Ikeja Local Government headquarters as the Council Manager, Mrs Odubeko Juliana Taiwo, marked her 59th birthday. The event, which tookplace at the Local Government Council Manager’s conference room, brought together the chairman of Ikeja local government, Honourable Akeem Dauda, members of the legislative council, Heads of departments, community stakeholders, amongst others.
Hon. Akeem commended Mrs. Taiwo for her impactful work within the Ikeja local government.
“She is an administrator per excellence,” the Chairman declared. “It gives me joy to be here to celebrate her because I have worked with her for six months as a Council Chairman, and I can see the difference. She is a committed and dogged administrator who works and does not discriminate despite our differences. I wish her the best in her endeavours.”
Speaking at the event, Mrs Taiwo expressed deep joy and gratitude to God. “I feel great. I’m so happy and grateful to everyone who has come to celebrate with me, she said. Beyond her birthday, the celebration also highlighted her 30 years of dedicated public service to the Lagos state government. It has been a journey of impact.
Beyond the celebration, Mrs. Taiwo reaffirmed her commitment to the administrative success of the local government. She emphasised that her primary focus remains assisting the executive chairman to fulfil his campaign promises.
“I am here to assist the man who has the mandate of the people, the Chairman, so he can deliver the dividend of democracy that he promised the people during the election,” she stated.
The gathering served as a moment of reflection and appreciation for her years of service, with community leaders noting her impact on local governance. The birthday celebration concluded with goodwill messages and prayers for her continued health and success in office.
