If you’ve ever had to upload a video or join a Zoom call in Ikeja during a rainstorm, you probably understand the frustration of slow or interrupted internet. With Starlink entering the Nigerian market, many hoped it would offer a major solution to our internet issues.
However, while Starlink is fast, it is not budget-friendly for the average Lagos resident.
So, we decided to explore other reliable internet providers in Nigeria that are faster, cheaper, or more accessible than Starlink—especially for students, remote workers, creators, and small businesses in Ikeja.
1. MTN HyNetflex

Is Starlink Worth It?
Let’s be honest: Starlink is a premium service, with setup costs around ₦450,000 and monthly subscription fees close to ₦40,000. While the speeds (up to 200 Mbps) are impressive, it simply isn’t affordable for most Lagos residents… at least for now.
Unless you’re running a tech company from your bedroom or need high-speed internet in remote areas, the options listed above may serve you better—and save you money.
