Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong has explained that artistes and others in the entertainment industry can face significant losses if they don’t engage the expertise of a lawyer.
This came in on Thursday, a few days after the death of Nigerian musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka Mohbad.
Mohbad, who was signed to Marlian Records, had a fall out with the owner, Naira Marley which led to him leaving in 2022.
He was reportedly threatened and harassed by Naira Marley. Mohbad eventually had hypertension, which many believe led to his sudden death.

According to Inibehe, having a lawyer when signing contracts or deals could have prevented issues.
Taking to X(formerly Twitter), he advised, “As an upcoming artist, you should have and retain a lawyer as an integral part of your career.
“If you’re into entertainment or any business for that matter, and you do not have a lawyer, you’re taking a huge risk that may cost you irreparable loss. This advice has saved lives.”

Mohbad, who was known for his impressive rap and singing skills has indeed left us.This has left both the entertainment industry and his fans in deep sorrow.
