Well-known social media influencer and ex-Big Brother Naija’s housemate, Tacha has queried why the Headies organizers refused to organize the award show in Nigeria.

It is important to note that the 16th edition of the Headies Awards, the biggest celebration of Afrobeats and African culture was hosted on the 3rd of September in the United States, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta.

Following this, Tacha shared her disappointment with the Headies award team as she asserted that it made no sense that one of Africa’s biggest award shows was hosted in a foreign country.

She argued that it was wrong and Africans were the ones voting hence such an event should not have been hosted in the US when the home of Afrobeat was Africa.

Tacha defended that she had no problem with the 15th edition Headies that was done in the US but it was now becoming a topic of concern because it was done again in the same foreign country that most likely knew nothing about the root of Afrobeats.

In a subsequent tweet, she added that it was disrespectful to Nigerians and urged the Headies Award team to do better in the future.

“We’re just always looking for validation from our slave masters!! it’s just a big shame. Headies you guys should just do BETTER, This is so disrespectful to Nigerians. Tbh,” she said.
