Hullabaloo as “OBIdient” Governorship Candidate in Kano Leaves Position Vacant to Join APC

The Labour Party Governorship candidate in Kano State, Bashir I Bashir has left his position vacant to join All Progress Congress on Sunday.

Barely 12 days to the start of the general election, LP is left with no candidate to field for the gubernatorial election in Kano after its candidate dumped the party to join its rival.

Bashir Ahmad, Media Aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, has also confirmed the report in a tweet on Monday.

“The Kano state governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Hon. Bashir I. Bashir, has abandoned his ambition to join and work for the success of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. A great news!”

Some reactions to the Defection

James Onaji reacted: ” If u like gather the whol governorship candidate…that is APC wahala as far as I know LP will win the Presidency…what we expect from u is to tell Ur boss Buhari to make sure he give us credible and sound election then leave the rest for the voters to decide…one man one vote.”

Likita Beanyi said: “He had no ambition in the first place. He was in LP to play this role but we are steps ahead.”

Ali Zamani reacted: “I thought LP is a structureless party, why is it now a great news for you that her members are defecting?”

Bashman said: ” That won’t still change the fact that Kano particularly will be shared between three major parties, which will be led by NNPP, PDP and/or APC.”
