Seven years after forecasting that Lionel Messi would win the prestigious World Cup trophy, a man has gone viral as his prophecy finally came to pass.

José Miguel Polanco had in March 2015, predicted that Messi would “become the greatest player of all times” by winning the World Cup.

In a tweet which has now generated thousands of reactions, Miguel who appears to be an Argentine predicted that the Paris Saint-Germain talisman would coast to World Cup glory on “December 18, 2022.”

The accuracy in the time and event was mind-blowing, and after Messi led the Argentine team to their second World Cup victory in Qatar on Sunday, December 18, 2022, the tweet was exhumed to the surprise of millions of football fans.

“December 18, 2022. 34-year-old Leo Messi will win the World Cup and become the greatest player of all times. Check back with me in 7 years,” José Miguel tweeted at 9:27pm.

Asked by a curious tweep how he knew the final would be on December 18, the Argentine ‘seer’ who is also in Qatar to support Messi and his warriors jokingly gave a cryptic response: “something called Wikipedia.”

Ikeja Bird recalls that Argentina defeated the defending champion France at Lusail Stadium with a 4-2 penalty win, thanks to a heroic effort from the La Albiceleste goalie, Emi Martinez.

Messi and Angel Di Maria had given the Lionel Scaloni’s side a brave lead but a one-minute double from Franchman Kylian Mbappe brought France to level, forcing the game into extra time.

Messi secured a double in the extra time but another penalty from Mbappe leveled the scoresheet to 3-3 before the winner was decided via penalty.
