Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho released

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho was on Monday released from detention in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

This was made known in a statement by Ilana Omo Oodua’s spokesperson, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye.

It was entitled: “Yoruba Nation Activist, Sunday Adeyemo Ighoho Released to Yoruba Leader, Banji Akintoye, French Language Expert, Wale Adeniran by the Benin Republic Government.”

According to the statement, Igboho was released on Monday to leader of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Prof. Banji Akintoye and a French Language Expert/ Prof. Wale Adeniran.

Speaking on the release, Akintoye described it as a triumph of truth over darkness in Yoruba Land.

Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, had invaded his Ibadan residence on July 1,2021,this culminated in Igboho’s escape.

Afterwards, he was arrested in Benin Republic on his way to Germany with his wife, Ropo, who was later released.

The activist was arrested on July 20, 2021 and has been behind bars in Cotonou, Benin Republic ever since.
