Seun Kuti, popular Afrobeat singer, has called on the law makers to enact a “Mohbad Law” against cultist intimidation in Nigeria.
Speculations about cult-like affiliations in the Nigerian entertainment industry have arisen following the untimely death of singer Mohbad, who was formerly signed to Marlian Records.
Even social media influencer Solomon Buchi accused Nigerian singers of involvement in cultism that most influential Nigerian musicians are cultists.

In response to this, Seun Kuti disclosed that the Nigerian police are also involved in cult groups and activities.
Recall that the grammy award nominee was arrested and detained earlier this year after an altercation with a police officer, hence his certainty.
He wrote, “A nation of cowards!! We need a MOHBAD Law against cultist intimidation in all our institutions. Anything short of that is nothing!! The National Assembly must do this monumental work to protect future generations from this scourge. #mohbadlaw
Seun Kuti also raised concerns about how the police can ensure justice for Mohbad if they have connections to the culprits and their cult associations.
“When I was locked up numerous police officers and their ogas told me their different cultist affiliation thinking I was one of them so they could help me, even the police are cultists. Now u are asking cultist to investigate cultists.”
