Victor Hugo Sosa, the Mayor of San Pedro Huamelula in southern Mexico, recently participated in a traditional ceremony where he married a female reptile named Alicia Adriana.
The purpose of this ritual was to bring good fortune to the town’s people. As the Indigenous Chontal community looked on, Sosa engaged in reenacting an ancestral custom, accompanied by clapping and dancing.
During the ceremony, Sosa expressed his commitment to this unconventional union, emphasizing the importance of love in any marriage. He stated, “I accept responsibility because we love each other. That is what is important. You can’t have a marriage without love… I yield to marriage with the princess girl,”

He calls the Reptile “ Princess girl”
The reptile involved in the ceremony is a caiman, a species similar to an alligator that inhabits marshes in Mexico and Central America. Sosa vowed to remain loyal to what local legends call “the princess girl.”

Commotion as bride and groom’s uncles fight over new marriage list
