Popular Nigerian comedienne and musician, Maryam Akpaogaki, better known as Taaooma has shared why she ventured into music.
In a chat with Fisayo Fosudo, the host of The Leaderboard podcast, Taaooma revealed the reason why she started music.
According to her, she loved the idea that rather than using other people’s music for her skits, her own songs should be used.

She explained that when she hears the music in her skits, she knows it’s hers and gets really proud of her achievements.
“I love music, for me entertainment is freedom, you can do anything, I love the fact that it is my music, it is my song, It’s a song I can be proud of, I made this song, I just feel like, I’m using other people’s songs [in my skits], and this thing is not so hard. I have a studio, we can record songs,” Taaooma said.
Addressing people criticizing her for her music, she stated that she wasn’t the type of person to be stopped when she set her mind to something and most importantly, it was only God and her commitment that can judge her.

In other news, talented Nigerian music star Oludipe Olawasanmi David popularly known as Spyro has made a declaration about his latest music style.
The music star disclosed that he is interested in making songs that are evergreen and meaningful to people and not just for grooving purposes.
He stated that his choice of lyrics is primarily to promote godly things and this has been known by his colleagues and workers in the music industry.
