A debate about why Nigerians refuse to confess their age when asked has ensued on the microblogging platform.
A Nigerian abroad-based woman, Oluchi took to Twitter to enquire why Nigerian are always hesitant to share their real age with people.
According to her, it wasn’t a big deal in Western countries especially in the US as she revealed that one could be walking in the streets and a random person could approach him/her then ask about their age.

The 34-year-old woman added that it shouldn’t be a big deal or a matter that cause an argument because it was a straightforward conversation.
I don’t know why some Nigerians get shocked about people’s age. What is so special about telling people your age, and why does it attract a debate? It’s almost like they get upset, uncomfortable, or suspicious. Don’t you know how old you are? You could be walking on the streets in the US and someone would walk up to you, start a conversation, and then ask you how old you are. It’s a straightforward conversation.

@atueyi_mathew: I have noticed this among the Yankees, on day 1 of you meeting them they ask you about your age, honestly it shouldn’t be big deal right, but then such information can be used against you in subtle or overt manner. It either shut you out or open doors of opportunities.

@beautybyuri: They like to act senior to everyone. Even if you are of same age with them. Once they get a bit above you financially or when they are married, they tend to make you feel less their age, even though apparently, they know y’all are peers. I cut such people off immediately.

Taking to his official Instagram page today, June 4, 2023, Davido’s show promoter shared that his wife was plus one.
