A Facebook user, Pius Adesakin has narrated how a man from Bayelsa state left a wedding ceremony after spending a huge amount of money on Saturday.
The groom whose name is Biobelemoye David reportedly absconded from the wedding ceremony due to high demand from the bride’s family.
According to the user, the man had spent N1.5m on food, tents, chairs and public address system only.
“He was also made to set aside N100,000 as the bride price that the two families had agreed on,” Adesakin said.
He narrated that David was also asked to add N50,000 to the bride price as result of the fact that he had already impregnated his bride prior to the wedding.
“He was slapped with a N10,000 fine for making a detour to the wrong path and ending up in a different homestead other than the girl’s. He was also asked to pay N15,000 to appease the elders who had become tired of waiting for his arrival,” he said.
It came to a head when twelve girls covered in loose robes were paraded before the man and he was asked to point at his fiancée from the veiled girls.
“He pointed at the wrong woman and that led to yet another fine of N15,000. The decisive moment specifically was when the elders demanded for a refund of the total sum of N850,000 that had been paid as the girl’s school fees and upkeep since she started primary school,” he added.
Resigning to anger, David excused himself to visit a nearby latrine and disappeared.
His phone is said to be off since he left the ceremony and was later seen on a bus heading to Bayelsa state from Imo.
