Despite the emerging commotion in some parts of the country, the National Security Council (NSC) insisted that the Fenruary 25 presidential and National Assembly election will hold.
This position was emphasised during the NSC meeting on Tuesday, February 22, presided by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa.
Speaking with the State House correspondent, attorney general of the federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and the inspector general o police, Usman Alkali, said the council gave a marching order that the February 25 election should hold as planned.
Malami also expressed that the head of the country’s security agencies have been briefed to ensure the polls hold according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s schedule.
