A Twitter user named Victor Isreal has pointed out that a character brought to life by Richard Mofe Damijo in Shanty Town series is a clear depiction of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC Presidential candidate.
The Twitter user said that it was obvious that the character Cheif Fernandez was portraying the APC Presidential candidate who had been allegedly linked to drug trafficking.
IkejaBird gathered that while this claim is unsubstantiated, and even though the former governor has not been convicted on any drug trafficking offenses, there are many people like Isreal who believe it.
“Nobody is talking about how RMD’s cap in Shanty town was a subtle pointer to the fact that they were trying to portray Tinubu in the movie. A drug Lord that had a powerful influence over Lagos and was ready to do anything to keep Lagos under his control. E clear die,” he said.
How Social Media Reacted to What Israel Said
Fabian Eze said: “Damn! On point, was actually talking to somebody about it yesterday.”
Caesar said: “My man, you saw it clearly. I already mentioned this on my tweet 2nites ago even before I saw the movie to a half. Chief Fernandez played a role seemingly Tinubu. It was crystal clear.”
Real Project said: “Film is a reflection of the mind of the filmmakers. If there are subtle allusions to the personality of Tinubu in Shanty Town, they should not be taken as the true position of fact. The filmmakers have their own ideas of who Tinubu is and is not. They can’t dictate the fact to us.”
KC Philips reacted: “I just finished watching part 6 of that movie. U see shanty town and king of boys. Has much of tinubu character display on Lagos people.”
