A bad news came in for Chef Dammy after Guinness World Records finally responded to her attempt of breaking and setting a new record for the longest cooking marathon (Individual).
Recall that Chef Dammy completed her 120 hours cook-a-thon sometime on Wednesday, after cooking different delicacies non-stop.
The 300-level student of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti who cooked for those hours with the intention of being the new holder for the longest cooking marathon in the Guinness World Records Book has been disappointed after a response from the international organization came in.

According to them, they had no idea that she was doing such because she didn’t take the normal procedure everybody had taken.
They explained to Legit.ng that before anybody can embark on the journey of attempting to break a record, they send a mail to inform them, then they confirm that such a person can go ahead, however, Chef Dammy did no such thing.
No one gets paid by Guinness World Record organizers – Chef Dammy responds
“We have not received an application for this attempt. Applications can be made via the Guinness World Records website for our records management team to review.
“Once an application is accepted, the record claimant receives a set of detailed guidelines specific to that record category that must be adhered to.
“This also details a list of evidence that must be submitted for our team to verify the record. Guinness World Records maintains a rigorous review process to uphold the integrity of each Guinness World Records title,” Legit quoted the organization.
Following the news of her not recognized by the Guinness World Record, the young chef took to her Instagram page to share her opinion.
She posted a screenshot of a statement that read, “No one gets paid by GWR organizers, it’s just the business or skills and visibility which everyone deserves, glad she’s proving it’s not only when you have big sponsors, celeb or the likes before you can attempt similar things. Either she breaks any record or not, she should open her food business outlet as a brand after that.”
Reactions: The small fame you get use am wisely
Responding to her words, many social media users had many things to say about her. See some comments below;
ojonggrace: Dear, Dammy. I never supported this your idea from day one not because os anything but because of the timing. You would have allowed Hilda’s euphoria season to calm before embarking on yours. As your fellow Nigerian and woman. You are very young and promising , I believe you were manipulated into this for their own selfish gain, but trust me it will turn out for your own good. Those who pushed you without preparing you properly for it will f!ght you one day calling you an ingrate when you start shinning.
@ojonggrace: This wasn’t your own dream, they made you walk in another man’s dream but since you gave in your best Nature will crown your efforts with open doors. In essence, pls stop this media tantrums you want to start because it may expose you negatively. Don’t let them control your life, social media accounts and destiny anymore, get a management team if you can afford any now or get a trusted family member to manage you and your account. Yes most Nigerians didn’t support you doesn’t mean they hate you or your ambition, I don’t hate you either but was only trying to be in Hilda’s shoes. I love and wish you well..go rule your world Dammy.
obonyilofavour: You didn’t prove ANYTHING!! If you had honed your culinary skills before venturing into this, it would have been different. You don’t know ZILCH about being a Chef. You’re just a regular, everyday Nigerian who cooks very very basically. Zero plating, even slicing of fruits…Your meal presentations were horrible. If you must take up a name, you MUST LIVE to the expectations. You can’t call yourself a Chef and present food SHABBILY. Then you can have a proper skill to show for it. Unfortunately, a user is exploiting this young lady.
dana.bassey: Please do not open any food business. I repeat do not open any food business ooo.. Go and get training first!!!! Your presentation and everything is bad bad honestly. Even hygiene… Don’t let anyone rush you, learn and come back strong
