For about 7 years, the Lagos State Government has sought for the relocation of Computer Village, the most popular ICT and gadgets market, located in Ikeja, Lagos. Reason being that Ikeja is a residential area.

The relocation plan was first announced in 2017. However, 7 years later, the plan has yet to materialise. However, in February 2024, Olajide Babatunde, the special adviser to the governor of Lagos on Electronic Geographic Information System, revealed during a press briefing that the government intends to move Computer Village to Katangowa in Abule-Egba. This will mean relocating over 8000 traders.
