Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface is not thrilled even after he broke a record in the Bundesliga.
In the match between his team Bayer Leverkusen and Heidenheim, Boniface had the highest number of shots on target in five games, breaking a 29-year-old record.
Boniface is now the player in the history of the German Bundesliga with the most shots on goal in the league’s first five games.
I should have scored more
In the 1994-1995 German Bundesliga season, Uwe Wegmann, who played for Bochum, became the first player in the history of the league to register 25 shots on target in five games.

Since then, no player has been able to overtake such a feat, even though the league has witnessed the arrival and departure of deadly attackers like Robert Lewandowski who currently plays for FC Barcelona in Spain, and Erling Haaland who currently plays for Manchester City in England.
However, Victor Boniface, who just arrived in the league from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise this summer, broke the age-long record with his 38 shots on target as his team beat newly promoted Heidenheim 4-1 at the BayArena on Sunday.
During the game, the Nigeria international scored in the 9th minute and also scored from the penalty spot in the 74th minute to take his goals tally to 8 in all competitions.
But Victor Boniface declared his displeasure over the record after the game, saying he would have preferred to have scored more goals with the shots.
“If you have 38 shots on goal as a player, you should have scored at least 25 goals,” he said. “So I don’t want to congratulate myself on that.”
