Nollywood actor, John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, has undergone two major surgeries, Ikejabird reports.
The comic’s adopted daughter, Jazmine Okafor took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to announce the development.
Recall that Mr Ibu recently celebrated his 63rd birthday in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos. During this, he revealed in a video posted on Instagram that he needed financial support so his leg would not be amputated.
He had said, “I have been down for so many weeks, all I’m hoping for is your prayers and assistance. I’ve been in the hospital, as I speak to you, I’m still lying down in the hospital.
“The medical director says in case his new idea didn’t work, the best idea is to cut off my leg, just see me, if they cut off my leg where will I go to? Please be on prayers for me, talk to God Almighty, I don’t want my leg to be cut off. God bless you”
Giving an update about her father’s condition, Jazmine said that the actor tried to crack jokes like nothing happened. She added that this was the strongest she had seen him in three weeks.
“Never seen anyone so strong… even after two major surgeries, you were still trying to be funny like nothing happened, even in your lowest you still cracked jokes! I promise you, if there’s a God in heaven, you are getting out of this bed, stronger and alive. This is the strongest I have seen you in 3 weeks and I’m so excited! Fight this and get well soon, sweet papa,” she wrote.
